- Teacher-Created Content: Passages, vocabulary sets, and questions that teachers create or upload within the platform.
- Usage Data: Basic information about how the platform is used, such as which games are played and frequency of use, to improve the educational experience.

- Provide, operate, and maintain the Discovery Quest platform
- Allow teachers to track student academic progress and game performance

4. Student Privacy & COPPA Compliance
Discovery Quest is designed for use in educational settings with students in grades 5–8 (ages 10–14). We take student privacy very seriously and comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
- Student accounts are created and managed by teachers or school administrators.
- We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 without verifiable parental or school consent.

- We do not display advertising to students.
- Schools and teachers are responsible for obtaining appropriate consent before allowing student use of the platform.
5. Google OAuth & Third-Party Authentication
We use Google OAuth 2.0 solely to authenticate users and obtain their basic profile information (name and email address). Our use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We request only the minimum necessary permissions and do not access or store any Google account data beyond what is required for authentication.
6. Data Retention
We retain your account information and educational data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with our services. Teachers may delete student performance data at any time through the platform. If you wish to delete your account and all associated data, please contact us at the email address below.

We implement appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. All data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure.
